International Curriculum

Ages 5 - 10

In Years 1 to 6, Renaissance College offers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) that focuses on the total growth of the developing child, touching hearts as well as minds. It meets students’ social, physical, emotional and cultural needs in addition to academic development.

 

Ages 11 - 16

Renaissance College's Years 7 to 11 follow the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). It provides a comprehensive curriculum framework of academic challenge that enables students to embrace the connections between traditional subjects and the world in which they live through the process of inquiry.

Ages 17 - 18

In Years 12 and 13, Renaissance College offers two pathways, the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the IB Career-related Programme (IBCP), to give students agency in their studies based on their learning style and aspirations, while fostering a well-rounded and global-minded outlook through leadership and community involvement.

RCHK offers a wide range of after-school activities that everyone can participate in. It was through these opportunities that I discovered my love and passion for volleyball – the first time I touched a volleyball was during the tryouts for the volleyball team in Year 7! The teachers at RCHK were also accommodating and empathetic towards the situation of each student and taught me invaluable life lessons such as the importance of time management, teamwork, and respect.

RCHK offers a wide range of after-school activities that everyone can participate in. RCHK’s inclusive learning environment has challenged me to think outside the box. I had plenty of opportunities to explore my academic and non-academic curiosities. It taught me lifelong skills that no textbooks could – there were a lot of fun and challenging hands-on projects, which allowed me to connect my studies to the real world. Whether academically or even just socially, I was able to transition from secondary school to university smoothly.

📙 Reflective Project Student Handbook – Achievable steps to help students work independently.

Through practical guides, Ms. Shen hopes to provide “students and educators a little more clarity, confidence, and enjoyment.”

She graduated from SCAD a year early thanks to the advanced standing she earned through the CP, gaining both a head start and confidence to pursue the arts. Grace Poon, a Year 9 student at RCHK, won the competition for the best interpretation of the Lunar New Year-themed design with her take on the Chinese Year of the Horse.

RCHK CEO Belinda Greer, who selected the design after long deliberation, said: “I was particularly impressed by how Grace conveys movement, energy, and strength, and by her use of bold colour and texture to capture the spirit of celebration that defines this special time of year”.

27 January marked International Holocaust Remembrance Day, officially proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005 to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
Yesterday, ESF South Island School hosted a profoundly moving session organised by the Hong Kong Holocaust and Tolerance Centre. Our students were honoured to hear from Madame Larissa Cain, a survivor of the Warsaw Ghetto, who shared her firsthand testimony.

27 January marked International Holocaust Remembrance Day, officially proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005 to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
Yesterday, ESF South Island School hosted a profoundly moving session organised by the Hong Kong Holocaust and Tolerance Centre. Our students were honoured to hear from Madame Larissa Cain, a survivor of the Warsaw Ghetto, who shared her firsthand testimony.

After a 20-month journey, these new guides are officially here to support the IB Career-related Programme community:

📘 The Core in Practice: Educator’s Guide to Personal and Professional Skills – Short, digestible chapters designed to help teachers.
📙 Reflective Project Student Handbook – Achievable steps to help students work independently.

Through practical guides, Ms. Shen hopes to provide “students and educators a little more clarity, confidence, and enjoyment.”

✨ Meet Megan Tan, our IBCP Alumni of the Month!

As one of just four pioneers in our second CP cohort, Megan took a leap of faith on a then little-known pathway because she saw its potential to bring her closer to a career in art and design—and it’s been paying off ever since.

She graduated from SCAD a year early thanks to the advanced standing she earned through the CP, gaining both a head start and confidence to pursue the arts. Today, she works as an interior designer at a studio in Hong Kong, specialising in high-end residential projects. 👉 Swipe to discover her full story!

Hundreds of beautiful designs, but only one winner!
Grace Poon, a Year 9 student at RCHK, won the competition for the best interpretation of the Lunar New Year-themed design with her take on the Chinese Year of the Horse.
